The Hassles and Rewards of Moving

I hate to move. Small boxes. Medium boxes. Large boxes. Heavy boxes. Dust. Garage sale. (Please, Lord, not another one.) Clean out. Sell furniture. Give away. Pack. Carry boxes. Hire movers. Call utility companies. Lots of address changes. Unpack. What a hassle!

Sometimes I wonder if it's worth all the work and all the trouble. And then I envision the new house. It will be brand new. It will be beautiful. We chose the floor plan, the carpet, the tile and everything about the house. It will be just the way we want it. It will be perfect for our family.

Life is like that. We go through trials and difficulties and challenges and hard work. We sometimes wonder if it's worth it. And then we imagine what heaven will be like. Eternity with our heavenly Father. We remind ourselves that all we have to go through is worth it. This is all temporary. High gas prices. Health challenges. Relationship problems. All of it is temporary. As believers in Jesus Christ, we'll be in heaven someday.

Paul helps us keep things in perspective. He reminds us in Philippians 3:20, "For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ."

Whatever you are going through, "it will be worth it all, when we see Jesus."
